The Kamma community is known for agricultural families came from the Kammanadu region of the Guntur and Prakasam districts in Andhra Pradesh

There are many theories about the origins of the word Kamma,but there is no conclusion . One theory is that the people who lived in the Krishna river valley they known as kamma or Karma in Sanskrit .This region was once known as Kammarashtram / Kammarattam / Kammanadu, which was under the control of Eastern Chalukyas,Pallavas and Telugu Cholas.

Kammas have a very high propensity to migrate, wherever they see investment opportunities, whether in new irrigation projects, or business and real estate in the cities, especially in Hyderabad.
